Greece is located at the south part of Balkan Peninsula and is member of the European Union since 1981. Greek waters are part of Eastern Mediterranean Sea and almost 5000 islands form an ideal area for all yachtsmen to cruise.
With a history of over 3500 years, a lot of monuments and cultural events, it is for sure that you can enjoy much more than just sun and sea!
The country offers ideal conditions for sailing 9 months per year, from April to November.
Five main separated sailing areas (Saronic - Argolic gulf, Cyclades, Ionian, Sporades, Dodecanese) with different profile will allow you to enjoy your vacation in the way that feats to your needs.

Saronic, Argolic, Eastern Peloponnese
A well protected sailing area, suitable for calm and relaxing vacations. Although close to Cyclades, it is well protected from “meltemi”, the local NE wind, which even during August will not blow over force 5-6. During the rest on the season winds will be around force 3-4. Possible to visit a different place every day as distances in between local ports are short.
Places to visit: Aegina, Epidaurus, Vathi, Methana, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Nafplion, Leonidion

Cyclades
Cyclades is probably the most famous sailing area in Greece. Located in the centre of Aegean Archipelago, offers a unique landscape of blue sky, transparent waters and rocky islands with sandy beaches. It is considered that some of the very first steps of Greek civilization took place in those islands. The prevailing during summer NE wind, the famous “meltemi” blows strong in this area and only experience sailors should cruise the area during July and August when breeze of force 7-8 could be met on a daily basis during August. Suggested to sail during June or September if looking for calm and relax!

Ionian
The Western cost of Greece is a nice area for calm and relaxing sailing vacations, as the waters are calm and winds during summer rarely blow over force 4. Sort sailing distances in between the islands, many small ports to visit or bays to stay on anchor. Excellent local cuisine to enjoy.
Places to visit: Corfu, Paxoi, Lefkas, Zante, Ithaca, Kefallinia, Sivota, Parga.

Dodecanese
The Dodecanese archipelago is located at the South East of Aegean Sea. One of the most beautiful areas to cruise as you can enjoy a variation of landscapes, strong cultural tradition, and wonderful beaches in combination with relatively calm winds. The climate remains hot even during October and November. All islands are closed to the Turkish coast line which you can also explore.
Main Islands: Rhodes, Kos, Leros, Kalymnos, Nysiros, Karpathos, Tilos, Symi, Patmos and many more smaller spread in the area.

Sporades
Sporades
The islands of Sporades are located at the eastern part of Aegean Sea, close to the western coastline. In this area the landscape is completely different to Cyclades as the islands are covered by pines. Beautiful bays with safe anchorage. Prevailing winds are force 3-4, rarely 5.
